Attract and Appreciate Your Husband

I didn’t have time to post anything yesterday because we were busy celebrating my husband’s 38th birthday.  What a blessing he is to our family!  When I first met him, I actually tried to set him up with other women before I realized how wonderful he was for me!

He is the most wonderful father to Hannah.  She simply lights up when he comes home from work.  He works long hours at a thankless job to give me the opportunity to be a SAHM, and he is always looking for ways to do something special for Hannah and me.  In return, I try to make sure that I (usually) look nice and that the house is picked up at the end of the day.

Recently, I was talking to some other wives who said that – after having children – they no longer saw any reason to try to make themselves look nice for their husbands and that it was all they could do to keep track of the children, let alone pick up the house!  While I can understand running after children is exhausting (especially now that Hannah is crawling and getting into everything), I still hold to the belief that my husband who leaves our home every day to provide for us deserves to come home to a wife who is trying her best to look nice for him and a house that is kept tidy.

I am not saying that you have to put on your best dress or that you have to do a deep-cleaning every day.  To be honest, I tend to leave toys laying around throughout the day because I see no point in constantly picking up what Hannah will only pull out again after her nap!  What I am saying is that one way to show your husband respect is to brush your hair, put on a little lipstick, and toss the toys in the toy box before he comes home.

An additional tip:  If you put things away right after you use them, you won’t find a sink full of dirty dishes at the end of the day or piles of junk cluttering up your home!

About themommyfactor

First of all, I am a child of God. I was blessed to come to know Him as my personal Savior when I was just 5 years old! God has blessed me with a wonderful husband, Jamie, who puts up with all of my crazy ideas; a beautiful daughter, Hannah, who is teaching me how to mother in God's grace; a handsome little boy, Ephraim, who keeps us all laughing; and bossy, sweet-natured Harmony, who is never boring! We are enjoying the ups and downs of being parents and look forward to meeting others who are on the same unpredictable journey of parenthood!
